Jury Duty

LOL! Found out today that I've been summoned for Juy Duty! What a hoot! The letter says there are NO Exceptions for service. There isn't even a number for me to call. So I guess I will have to miss ONE MORE day of work to go through the drill. Normally, I might be kind of excited to serve - right now is bad timing. Hope I'm not 2 days post-surgery or something like that! If anybody has any hints about what to do - please share!

Talk to Tim about how to avoid jury duty.

I'm sure given your situation, they'll cut you some slack. But, if you really want to serve (it's no fun, but it is your solemn CIVIC DUTY!)spend the per diem on stiff drinks!

Call the bailiff for the court that summoned you and tell them your situation. Tell them you would like to serve, but you are being treated for breast cancer. Don't say you can't miss work because that won't fly. I'll bet they'll let you off.

Who's the Judge? Bruce would know who to talk to.

I have some connections too - I am friends with several of the Judicial clerks. Call me and maybe I can help. Though as someone who is having a jury trial next week, I wish I could have you as a juror!
